The D, I, S, to the C

Participating in class activities in Professor Kurpis’ class is always fun.  I always learn something about myself and others around me.  I’m sure others feel the same.  During the professional profiling system I noticed that quite a few of the characteristics in the PowerPoint described me so well that I knew to immediately pick them.

The test nailed it.  The results told me I was a ‘D’, which is 100% correct.  I’m the type of person who knows what they want and won’t give up very easily to get it.  From the first slide, I knew that this test would accurately pinpoint me.  The whole sheet where I wrote down my letter selections was almost all Z’s.  Not for a second do I wish I was another letter.  It would be nice if it were possible to be dominant in two traits but I’ll gladly stick with what I have.

I believe that this test is a fairly good tool to determine ones management type.  The reason why I say fairly is because everyone is different.  For example, just because there is a room full of D’s, it doesn’t mean that they are all the same.  Everyone manages and handles things in a different way.  There is no said right way of managing something.  Two people who both have the same management type can handle a situation in two very different ways.  This test would help in interacting with people because you can know what to generally expect when dealing with someone and not be surprised by their reaction.

  1. I think that good police officers almost have to be D's. What do you think?

  2. Absolutely. Good point that should have been brought up in my post. Being a police officer requires courage and fast thinking. When you're in a situation where time is of the essence, a D type person is definitely the person you want as the police officer handling it. This is especially true for officers who are in charge of other police officers such as sergeants, lieutenants, captains, etc.

  3. I agree with you when you say that everyone is different. just because everyone is in group D doesnt mean that they are all exaftly alike.

  4. I would definitely agree in that I could be a D and you are a D but we would handle the same situation totally different. I too am trying to become a police officer on Long Island, taking the test in June, and I think that it is important to be able to make quick decisions and decisions that other people may not be able to make. So although we haven't worked together in any of the group settings just from the fact that you are going to be a NYPD officer I'd agree that the test accurately described you.

  6. Yes, the class activities are always fun! And it's good that the test results came out to exactly what you thought they would turn out. The test was a good way for us to really how a personality exam is broken down and gives us a better view of how a company would view us.

  7. I think you raise an important point in that individuals with the same personality type can have differences as well. The same test results does not make two people the same.

  8. I am agree with you that even though people are some of the similar result every individual is unique and accordingly handle the situation. Those like you may have some characteristic of other type too.
